Ghana participates in the 2025 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) +20 High-Level Event and AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva.

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MCDTI), Honourable Samuel Nartey George (MP), arrived in Geneva on Sunday, 6th July 2025 as the head of a delegation of ten (10) officials from MCDTI, National Communications Authority (NCA), and Parliament to participate in the 2025 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) +20 High-Level Event and AI for Good Global Summit, both of which took place at Palexpo, Geneva, from 7th to 11th July 2025.

The Honourable Minister participated in various committee meetings and plenary sessions on both WSIS+20 forum and AI for Good Summit. With regard to WSIS, on 9th July, the Minister delivered a statement and participated in a panel discussion dubbed “Leaders TalkX”. Subsequently, he took part in the Ministerial Roundtable during which he successfully moderated a session attended by thirteen (13) other ministers from various countries.

During the Leaders TalkX, Hon. Sam George took the opportunity to highlight how Ghana’s strategic approach to public-private partnerships in the digital sector is contributing to economic growth and the lessons that other developing countries could learn from in implementing WSIS Action Lince C1 on multi-stakeholder governance.

While pursuing Ghana’s digital agenda in the plenaries and other statutory meetings, Hon. Sam George took the opportunity to hold strategic bilateral engagements with key partners, including the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), Prof. Celeste Saulo, the Minister of Communications of Malaysia, H.E. Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohammed Fadzil, the Minister for Communications and Digital Technology of South Africa, Honourable Mmoba Solomon Malatsi, the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance of Greece, H.E. Christos Dermetzopoulos, and the Tech Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, H.E. Anne Marie Engtoff Melgaard.
