GHANA PLEDGES $50M SUPPORT TO ECOWAS SECURITY OPERATIONS
Ghana has made a $50M million pledge to support anti-terrorism and security operations in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority Heads of State and Government, announced this when he opened the virtual ECOWAS summit last Saturday.
The President expressed worry over the security challenges in the region and condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Mali, north-eastern Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger.
